The food here is just phenomenal!! The meats and cheeses are all housemade and everything is so delicious and indulgent. The burrito is one of my favorites, fat and yummy with your choice of "meats" and add-ons, and we also started eating the breakfast sandos recently-- I love the tofu egg patty. Also, all the sweets are homemade by Ginger Bakes, tons of amazing flavor combos and incredible looks and textures. Top notch.

We ate here before a show at the fox theater, had the impossible tacos and quesadilla, it did not dissapoint. I highly reccomdnd this place!

This holiday season, I was lucky enough to get my hands on Chef Raul's vegan tamales, and they are truly exceptional. These are, without a doubt, the best vegan tamales I've ever had--and even my suegros gave them their stamp of approval! I made sure to place my order as soon as they opened because they sell out quickly, and for good reason--they're absolutely worth all the hype. I couldn't resist also ordering the pozole, which is another standout at Taqueria La Venganza. Their pozole is rich with depth and flavor, without being overly acidic--a common issue I find when it comes to vegan pozole. I'm so grateful that the East Bay finally has a vegan taqueria that not only captures authentic flavors but continues to amaze me every time. Chef Raul and team, thank you for pouring so much love and magic into your food. I recommend this spot to everyone I know, even my carnivorous friends--it's just that good!

I got some takeout from here and the smoked jackfruit salad was no joke! It was huge, bursting with flavor and different components. Unique and delicious!

The food is just really, really so good. My favorite vegan tacos, and their Sunday brunch is amazing. Pastries by Ginger Bakes are incredible - she is super talented. I only wish they had more seating!

I assumed my review was still up but I suppose since they've gotten they're very own spot now, I should update. All burritos, all the time! My only beef is that they're so far away now, I just can't get over there as much as I'd like. But it's worth it! I do like the tacos but as I'm tending towards delivery mostly, I choose items that'll make the delayed dining experience most enjoyable. Fatty meaty goodness, chock full of flavor, I do more miss the meat at all here. I was a late to the party learning about pozole in my meat eating days, so I'm not a big know it all about it, but this soup is also a must have! It is so worth the price. Also only done on limited runs, so if you see it, get it! Also, if there's any desserts or pastries, you must not miss out!

Number nine, number nine---the Beatles In my ninth year elite I am doing my 900th review. If only life was this simple. I was curious to check out Taqueria La Venganza with my uncle after Elite Vegans Jenn and Kedar had a liking to it. Kedar is a tough critic so him saying it was one of his favorite vegan tacos in America wanted me and my uncle to scope it out. We each ordered the taco plate which comes with a sampler of three different tacos with a side of beans and rice. Hearty portions and flavorful. Done up right. The only hiccup was no where to sit at the restaurant so me and my uncle got it to go to the bar down the block called Whitehorse which worked out just fine for the 49ers were playing an elimination game against the Packers. I got a basketball jones yet you can't get more American than football in a bar so of course I rooted for the 49ers that came up with the W. Back to the cuisine. It was quite alright. Me and my uncle both enjoyed it. Probably my favorite vegan tacos in America were at Vegan Nom in Austin aka the food truck yet here hit the spot and glad Whitehorse was a welcoming place to enjoy our eats. 900th review is in the books. For yummy vegan tacos served in hearty portions check them out!

Food 5/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 3/5 VIBE: - no seating, all food is prepared for take out - service was fine, they give you very little salsa with your food FOOD: - it's all vegan but the imitation meat tastes authentic!! Super yummy/flavor - burritos here are HUGE - carnitas burrito (5/5) - Al pastor burrito (5/5)

The best Mexican food I have enjoyed in the Bay in a while, notwithstanding that everything on the menu is vegan. Keep in mind that there's very little sitting and standing room so you would basically pick up and either eat standing outside or take away the food. We had the Al Pastor Taco and Burrito, Mushroom Carnitas Burrito and a Caulifllower Burrito. Sadly, the group ordering right ahead of us got the last of the horchata so I couldn't get my hands on it. I loved the Al Pastor taco, the flavors were just exploding in my mouth and the texture was just the right mix of crunchy and juicy. The mushroom carnitas had a very smoky flavor. The Cauliflower burrito to me was just ok. I had been meaning to try this out for over a year and I regret waiting. Don't wait, go for it now. You don't have to be a vegan to enjoy the spectacular food served here.
